The Day Centre is open Monday to Friday from 9am to 4pm
We have been delighted by the amount of support that Wade Day Centre is receiving from the local community.
At the end of November we were given 50 x lovely handwritten letters to be distributed to our Members, many of whom
are lonely and isolated at this time, and will be comforted to read the words from a friendly companion.
Huge thanks to Carole Potts for organising this project (named 'A Letter From...')
and everyone who has given up their personal time to get involved.
Also, Funtastic Kids Club in Wokingham created this very beautiful and colourful Christmas scene which is now
displayed in the Member's lounge from them to enjoy throughout December. On behalf of all of our Members, thank
you so much for all of your efforts, it really has made a big difference during these challenging times.
Huge thanks to St Crispin's School
9 December 2020
Sixth Form Students, their families and everyone involved for the hugely generous gesture of 55 x filled
Christmas gift bags that we received on 9th December.
The Members will be delighted to receive these wonderful Christmas bags after their Wade Members' Christmas lunches
on 16th and 17th December.
We are extremely grateful to you all.
Christmas Gifts from a Year 9 Holt Student
9 December 2020
We received another wonderful donation on 9th December of various gifts collected locally in her residential area for the Members by Sasha,
a year 9 student at the Holt School. She coordinated it all herself and the Members will be very grateful to
receive these thoughtful presents.
Thank you very much indeed Sasha, also for the lovely handmade card and biscuits for the Wade staff.
Wokingham Charity Christmas Market Stall
7 December 2020
Wade had a fantastic day at the Wokingham Charity Christmas Market on Sunday 7th December 2020.
Many thanks to everyone who helped to set up and man the stall, plus made / organised / contributed wonderful
Christmas gifts, plants and treats.
It was a cold day, but we wrapped up warm and it was lovely to see so much interest and generosity from the
local community.
The great efforts of everybody involved raised a grand total of over £600 for the charity, which will make a huge
difference to the Day Centre during these challenging times. Thank you so much for your continued support.
Wade stall in Market Place
14 September 2020
The Town Mayor Councillor Tony Lack and his Mayoress visited the Wade stall
in Market Place, Wokingham, on Saturday 12th September 2020. We were
delighted to see them and everyone else who came to support us on the day. The stall
was aimed at raising awareness for the charity, particularly in these times
of crisis where funding is a huge challenge, and also the Wade 150 Club, as we are still looking to
further expand the membership numbers.

Wade has launched a new fundraising lottery - the Wade 150 Club - to boost funds for the Day Centre
in this time of crisis and to reward its supporters.
Here is the Wokingham Paper's coverage of the new venture.
You can find more details about the Wade 150 Club on our Fundraising page.
Our thanks to Yateley Men's Shed
June 2020
We would like to thank Yateley Men's Shed for their kindness and generosity in providing Wade with face shields/visors
in preparation for staff to wear after our reopening.
Many thanks to John and the team for their hard work
and efforts in making and supplying these vital pieces of equipment.
Here is the Men's Shed website, where you can
see some of the wonderful projects that they carry out on a voluntary basis for the community.
Gift bags
May 2020
Over lockdown we were busy delivering gift bags with goodies and treats to our Members. Many of them live alone or have been in isolation for months, and we just
wanted to let them know that we are missing and thinking about them all.
Huge thanks to Tesco Wokingham and Waitrose & Partners Wokingham for their generosity and very kind donations that helped us to achieve this.
Fashion Show
12 March 2020
Wade held a fundraising charity fashion show ‘girls night out’ on Wednesday 4 March 2020 at Wade Day Centre
in Wokingham in conjunction with ‘Travelling Trends’ (Fundraising Fashion Shows) who provided two models.
There were also four volunteer models, including two Wade staff.
After the show there was an opportunity to shop and browse through the wonderful outfits available to buy
through Travelling Trends.
There was a huge amount of interest in this event and tickets were sold out well in advance of the show.
The organiser was ‘Friend of Wade’ Sally Newlove. We raised a fantastic total of £1,160 for Wade through
ticket, raffle and refreshment sales.
Many thanks to Sally and all involved for their hard work and efforts.
